Murder Mystery at Mardi Gras!

Join us for  a Night of Mystery and Mardi Gras fun!

The Fairfax American Legion Hall will the location of a Mardi Gras themed Murder Mystery on Saturday, Feb, 22, 2020. Dress up if you like in a masquerade mask or Mardi Gras outfit. Appetizers, snacks and punch are included. A cash bar is provided by the American Legion.

Prizes awarded for best costume, most beads won and more. And of course, a prize for the sleuth that correctly identifies the murderer!

There’s a mystery afoot in the Big Easy – the Krewe of Midas King, Pierre DuPre, has been murdered, strangled with a set of Mardi Gras beads. It’s time for all party revelers to put down their Hurricane drinks and discover the truth about his demise.

Pierre was always suspicious of those looking to sink their claws into his fortune. Was it the greed of those around him that put old Pierre in the grave? His beloved family members, friends and neighbors have now become suspects in this Garden District murder!

Put on your favorite masquerade mask and get your sleuthing mind ready. It’s time to unveil a murderer!

Doug will give an update on the Highway 100 extension project. This important highway will not only change our transportation habits, it will bring new development to our community. Cranial Workout: Trivia Night a Hit

First Trivia Night raises $780 for charity!

Over 50 people participated in the Fairfax Lions Club’s first ever Trivia Night on Sat., Oct. 17th at the American Legion hall in Fairfax, IA. Walking tacos and desserts were served and the Legion provided a cash bar. Trivia buffs competed in 8 rounds of 10 questions per round. Topics included Iowa colleges, animal trivia, name that logo, military, Lions Club trivia and even some multi-media topics such as music and movie clips. The winning table answered nearly 70 questions correctly out of a possible 89 and recieved a gift bag for each member. Door prize drawings were also given away. The approximately $780 in proceeds will be split between the Iowa Lions Foundation the Fairfax trail project.

Trivia Night Fundraiser – Sat., Oct. 17

Join us for Trivia Night on Sat., Oct. 17 at the Fairfax American Legion hall. Dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. (free will offering), trivia starts at 6:00. Walking tacos, door prizes, cash bar and of course Trivia! Proceeds to benefit the Fairfax community trail project and Iowa Lions Foundation. Cost for Trivia is $10/person. Space is limited. Happy Independence Day!

I hope you are enjoying your summer and it is filled with outdoor adventure and time visiting friends and family! Plan to attend the Monday, July 13th Fairfax Lions Club meeting in the community room (2nd floor) of Guaranty Bank in Fairfax. Guests are always welcome – please invite a friend. The Lions are a great way to get involved in your local community!
